CEMENT RENDERING
A mixture of Portland cement and sand (ideally clean river sand); the proportion
depends on the finish and the grade of sand used. A coarse, toweled finish
provides the best ‘key’ for paint.
Surface Preparation:
Any fungal growth should be treated with Anti-fungus solution. Brush down
thoroughly with stiff wire/ coil brushes to remove loose particles and any surface
contamination. Surface defects should be made good with cement/ sand or
other appropriate material matching the porosity of surrounding areas. Ensure
that all new surfaces are allowed to dry out completely before applying a gloss
or eggshell finish.
Painting:
1 coat of Plastron Sealer.
2 coats of R. APE/ LSE
or
2 coats of Synthetic Matt/ Robb. Lustre Finish.
