CANE FURNITURE
There are several types of woven furniture, made exclusively of cane or a
combination of cane, bamboo, wood or other natural materials. There is no
difficulty in painting these furniture/ utensils unless there is any dyestuff used in
coloring the wood, which is then liable to bleed. If in doubt try out the paint on a
small hidden area.
Surface Preparation: 
Scrub with a solution of detergent and weather to remove all surface
contamination. Rinse well with clean water. Dry well keeping in a sunny or well
ventilated place. 
Painting 
Clear coating 
: 2 coats of Synthetic Clear Varnish or
  2 coats of Jhilik Synthetic Enamel
Clear durable coating
: 2 coats of 2 pack Polyurethane Lacquer
or Epoxy Clear Lacquer. 
Color coating 
: 1 coat Wood Primer/ Synthetic Undercoat. 
  2 coats of Robb. or Jhilik Synthetic Enamel
Durable Color coating
: 2 coats of Epilux 4 Enamel.

Surface Preparation: 
Wire brush the surface well and then apply Pyroclean 104 for degreasing
phosphating.
Painting:
1st coat with A/C Red oxide primer or Robb. Red Oxide Primer. 
Apply a suitable knifing putty. 
2nd coat with Robb. Red Oxide Primer or Bison All Purpose Primer.
Final Coats:
2 coats of Robb. Super Gloss Synthetic Enamel or Jhilik Synthetic Enamel.
