At the seminar, Berger’s plans and steps to protect the environment and improve public health were highlighted by the company’s Chief of Research and Development, A. S. M. Obaidullah Mahmud. The main speakers were Dr. Kazi Azizul Mawla and Mr Md. Nafizur Rahman and Dr. Afsana Parveen were present as technical and motivational speakers. Also participating in the discussion were the President of the Bangladesh Institute of Environmentalists (BIE), Environmentalist and Engineer S. M. Khorshed Alam, and the General Secretary, Environmentalist and Architect Md. Mahamudur Rahman Papon.
In Bangladesh, especially in cities, air pollution has become a serious health risk. It is causing more breathing problems, allergies, and long-term health issues, along with the harmful effects of greenhouse gases. Considering these factors, Berger has been working for a long time to develop and sell environment-friendly products, and Eco Coat is a prime example. Berger was the first to introduce Eco Coat, South Asia’s first environment-friendly paint that fights air pollution. It uses advanced Air Purifying Hybrid (APH) technology, which cleans harmful gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen sulfide, and formaldehyde. This significantly improves air quality and helps create a healthier environment.
Speaking about the importance of environment-friendly products for sustainable development, A. S. M. Obaidullah Mahmud highlighted the various benefits of using Eco Coat to prevent environmental damage in his speech. He said, “Berger Eco Coat can play an important role in sustainable development and environmental protection.” He emphasized, “I believe that Eco Coat, being free from harmful chemicals, can actively help in dealing with public health and environmental challenges by reducing environmental harm and purifying the air for a long time. Berger Eco Coat is a bright example of how positive changes can be brought to society while also meeting the needs of consumers.”
He also mentioned at the seminar that because Berger Eco Coat offers an affordable, easy, and effective solution that considers not only environmental protection and looks but also overall well-being, it will be a unique example of building a sustainable and safe Bangladesh. He added that its popularity as an anti-pollution paint will continue to grow day by day.
Whether it’s homes, offices, or schools, people in Bangladesh spend most of their day indoors. Therefore, keeping the air inside homes clean is essential for good health. Berger’s Eco Coat can effectively reduce indoor air pollution by almost 90%. Besides purifying the air, it also provides antibacterial protection, making its use vital not only for the environment but also for ensuring a healthy life.
The seminar concluded with a promise from Berger and the Bangladesh Institute of Environmentalists (BIE) to continue working together in the future so that our future generations can grow up in a healthy and pollution-free environment.
